How to use Lucas' Papaw Ointment

Dry Chapped Skin and Lips

  • Apply a thick layer of Lucas' Papaw Ointment to patches of dry skin or lips as needed.

Minor Wound Care

Using Lucas' Papaw Ointment on wounds will speed up the healing process allowing your skin to recover more quickly.


  • After thoroughly cleaning the wound and ensuring there are no foreign particles, apply Lucas' Papaw Ointment as soon as possible.
  • Best results are experienced by covering the wound completely in Lucas' Papaw Ointment and then covering with a clean dressing such as a Band-Aid or bandage - depending on the size of the affected area and the position of the wound on the body.
  • The dressing should be changed regularly

Covering the area holds the ointment in place over the wound so it can do its job without being wiped off and prevents the ointment from being deposited on clothes, bed sheets etc.

Nappy Rash

  • Thoroughly clean the area to remove any dirt or debris
  • Apply a layer of Lucas' Papaw Ointment over the entire graze and cover with a band-aid or non-stick dressing.
  • Remove dressing and reapply ointment daily until healed

Please be aware that the ointment will transfer to any clothing placed over the area so it is recommended to apply a non-stick dressing over the ointment.

Grazes, Red Skin Rash and Heat Rash

Lucas' Papaw Ointment can be used to soothe and relieve grazes, red skin rash and heat rash. Please note that all of these symptoms may become slightly more red shortly after application of ointment as part of the healing process - this is completely normal and will settle while the healing enzymes work.


  • Apply Lucas’ Papaw Ointment as a thin layer over the area.
  • If used in a clothed area, apply a light bandage or non-stick dressing to avoid transfer to clothing.
  • Reapply daily or after showering until settled.
