Funding Information
The Brightfield Illumination Module and software will enable investigation of the contraction (beating) of cardiac cells. The equipment will give an unprecedented view of size, shape, and pumping ability of an adult zebrafish heart and will place the Institute at the forefront of zebrafish heart research internationally.
This development of a sophisticated new method for cardiac function assessment will benefit cardiovascular researchers at the Victor Chang Institute and will pave the way for expanded collaborative studies within Australia and internationally. Advances in knowledge about the causes of disease and the future development of new therapies will ultimately benefit patients with heart disease and their families around the globe.
