Research summary
‘The funding provided by the Foundation has allowed us to progress our work to a stage where we have now applied for funding for a stage 1 clinical trial from the Medical Research Future Fund. Based on this data we have also attracted the interest of an international biotechnology company that has indicated they will support the clinical trial with up to $3m in funding (~50% of the cost). Overall, we have achieved our objectives and look forward to the translation of our work into the clinical. Without the support of the Lucas’ Papaw Foundation this would have been much harder and taken much longer.’ Professor Nigel McMillan
