Support of Diabetes Kid’s Camps and the Diabetes Australia Research Program

Funding Information

Funding supported up to 100 children to attend Diabetes Kid’s Camps across Australia. The camps are for children and teens living with diabetes, providing a setting to improve confidence, form friendships and build strong foundations for managing diabetes in adulthood. Type 1 diabetes is one of the most common chronic childhood conditions in Australia. Statistics show that in 2108, there were around 20,700 children and young adults affected by type 1 diabetes.

Funding contributed to the general grants program of the Diabetes Australia Research Program, which supports a range of projects across diabetes prevention, management and the search for a cure.
